I'm looking to use my HDS 7 gen2 as an ice fishing graph.

Anybody got one they wanna sell?

Even a link to where the best place is to get these would be great.

I believe I will use a $5 plastic toolbox I have here from Home Hardware. Should be enough room in it for 2 batteries, the unit, and the ducer.

Any ideas from guys already using these are welcome.

    Thank you.

I think amazon.ca has the cheapest retail incl. shipping. Not sure of any on sale.

Try gpscity.ca, they were by far the cheapest for my lss-2 that I had to replace this summer... Fishing hole should carry them locally, possibly cabelas but I highly doubt it...

There was an ice ducer in the bargain cave. Didn't have the blue connector though so you'd need the adapter also.

I'm not worried about the float. Easy enough make one. I like the arm better anyways. But @Coward mentioned that blue pig tail. When do I need that? Do I need it only If the ducer cord doesn't have the blue connector?

You'll need the adapter that connects the 7-pin blue connector from the ducer to the 9-pin black receiver on the HDS. They're $30-$35 USD.

I bought one from Radioworld last year. Shipping and exchange included, they had the best price.

As more and more guys realize the benefits of modern Lowrance graphs versus flashers, it would be crazy for local shops not to start stocking these.....but I haven't seen any.

My float never floats...it's only used as padding. Cord dangles right against the hole for less tangles.

Great thing about a graph is the history. You won't miss a thing

Bought mine and a friends at the fishin hole on one of the two annual sales. Boxing day is the next fishin hole sale. Part number you need Ernie is: pti-wbl (no adaptor needed). They are usually 25% off. So about $75 after the discount. Fishin hole is usually the best place locally for stock. They are not on the shelves, they are behind the counter in the parts/warranty area at the back of the store. Another option is the fishin hole online, free ship and gst only.

I too bought the one from Radioworld with the blue connector and didn't need any adapter for my gen 2.

Ahhh, man eyes. I thought Ernie was talking about his Gen 3. No adapter should be needed.

    From my limited research...

      • Requires adapter (TA-BL2UT) for all Mark™, Elite™, X-4, X-4 Pro, and similar earlier models with black 6 pin uniplug connection

I'm having second thoughts... For $200 at radioworld, you can get the softsided carrying case, a 7ah battery and charger, the ice ducer, and a couple lure trays. I might that route rather then build my own case. I'm assuming the HDS 7 Gen2 will fit the that case.

I dunno man, I tried the elite in a LX7 case and it's sucks... I'm gonna go the @craigm route for this winter, along with a 12v power source in truck and on sled with ram mounts strictly for the gps use....
