I am trying to decide if I need to buy a fish finder this spring to add to my kayak or just use the Navionics app for $9.99? I will be fishing out of my new Jackson "Big Rig" and I just don't want to add to much weight to it. What are your guys thoughts?

I’d buy a fishfinder...... navionics doesn’t replace sonar returns!!!

I agree with Patty .(For once )

A "fish finder" gets you A LOT more than that app ever can, even if it was accurate.

Even a low budget fish finder will be lightyears ahead of the app. Like a Lowrance Hook 4 or something similar.
