    That's super cheap for a unit with a 10" screen...wow.

A Ram Mount is going to be the cheapest option other then mounting it directly to the console. Balzout and Cisco are the best out there, pricey though.

The Hole has a big box of the 2.5 inch electronics Ram Mounts.

Thats what I use on my HDS 12, a friend uses the same one for his Helix 12. Works great, very solid.

    I have used 1.5” & 2.5” RAM as well as a Ballzout.
Ballzout is the clear winner by a mile.
Whatever you choose, make sure you put backing under the dash to support the torque, otherwise screws will pull out in time. Use bolts/thread lock nuts if you can!

They seem much more sturdy. I believe I use a 2.25" ball with the short arm for my HDS 9, and it moves in rough water when it's cinched down tight.

I used a ram 1.5” ball with my HDS 9 and it was fine.

My mistake, mine was a 1.5" ball too...not sure where I got 2.25" from.

I've always had a bit of an issue with mine moving. Wonder if it would stick better if I took some sandpaper to the ball mount and roughed it up a bit.

1.5” ball for my HDS7 and it’ll move in rough water, that’s also on a tiller which is generally a smoother ride then the electronics have sitting up near a wheel.

Nope. I’m going to try roughing the balls up, if that doesn’t work switch to a swing arm style.

@chrism Is the one I've seen you use a Balzout? If I'd be buying a ram for my HDS 12s that's what I would get. You can really screw that thing down solid!
