Hello all new member here from Iowa, I am an avid fisherman and hunter. I mainly fish for crappie and hunt ducks but I do try to get to Manitoba once a year to get my walleye fix and just to reset in the great north of Manitoba! I have been making trips since 6th grade with my father back in the early 80's. We went to Reed often but got to other areas also including west of Lynn Lake Reindeer lake (south end) up the Bisset road and a few places in Ontario. Manitoba is where I want to be thou.

    Welcome to CFF James.

    :helloandwelcome:

That's awesome that get to come up here once a year. Are those guided trips or do choose to venture on your own? Open water? Ice fishing?

Most trips have been free lance but have gone through an outfitter 4 times. 1 honeymoon 2 10th anniversary 3 dads last trip (but was able to make one more to Reed following year) 4 this year to take Dad to a pristine Manitoba river to be free with the nature he loved. All the trips through out fitters were un guided and only open water trips although I have been on trips too early that we could have ice fished reed lake when we pulled in the parking lot.(late ice out and long before social media and computers)LOL, that was the year we went up the bisset road.
