I don't think that's needed with the HDS models. That adapter is for older units. The blue connector is a 7 pin.

Not enough protection for the screen, or general abuse for that matter...

Talk to Craig once he is back he has portability figured out!!!

I've seen Craig's portable unit. I like it. But its a bit more pricey.

A clam flasher case and an ice ducer (pti-wbl) is less than the lowrance ice case and fits better.

My Gen1 HDS5 fits but it’s even a bit snug in that set up @Ernie. I’d imagine your HDS7 would be extremely tight if it fit at all

I don't recall needing the adapter but I'll double check when I have a chance.

I only mentioned needing the adaptor for the one at bargin cave as it has the black 9-pin connector. The one in the kit or from radio world is the blue connector

I have the Elite-7 Ti in the ice kit. It's a bit snug, but it fits. I think the Ti's are the same dimensions as the Gen 2's.

Yup, Clam bag and ducer is exactly what you need - plus the 7 to 9 pin cable. Lots of room, i can put two 8ah batts or an 18ah battery in the case - and still room. I have as above, 7ti and a clam bag, perfect fit.

Hds Gen2Touch do not need the 7 to 9 pin adapter to run the pti-wbl ice ducer....only Elite Ti series do. The clam bags are awesome.

Yup, the clam bag setup is nice. I found the Lowrance kit real snug even with an HDS 5.

Hoping I can cram my HDS 9 into the clam bag for this year!
