    Lesson learned although this and the ducer were an early birthday gift from the girlfriend so I'll just make sure not too let her find out haha.

    Never used it.
    I bought the Lowrance ice pack for my HDS5 and it came with the ice ducer, battery with charger and bag (that’s all I needed from the kit). Kit also had a mount for an Elite, I believe I gave that to @lake-fisher? And an old style mount that someone else got. And the power cable that I never needed as I’m using the original.

    Maybe I’ll regret this down the road if my cable craps out or I get a boat and wanna hardware, but I’ll cross that road then

    Once you get a trolling motor at the bow, many have built in ducers that you can plug into. You would just need an adaptor cable to plug your head unit it the trolling motor. So you just need to buy a trolling motor with a ducer built into it, and then buy a cable/adaptor, and a power cable. Were you planning to install a unit up front and then install a ducer 17 ft behind you or get a trolling motor ducer mount?
