What do you have this paired with @robm? Would this be a good rod for doinf some casting and a bit of jigging?

Maybe a bit long for walleye jigging for my liking but other guys like longer jigging rods. Long enough to help make decently long casts though, I use a similar rod for throwing senkos, flukes, tubes and hair jigs, could put a sinnerbait or crankbait on it as well. A 2500 size reel would be well matched for it (I have a stradic on the one I use).

IIRC you got a new wheel boat. If so you should see what length works best for sitting at the wheel and jigging above your transducer.

Honestly I am looking for something for the wife to use as a 2nd rod for times when I would like to throw a few casts or try jigging a stucture. She has a handed down baitcaster that I gave her for when we troll but it's not great for her for casting as you can expect. I have a 2nd hand Fenwick that I picked up for jigging and such for myself. Not sure if this would be good for her or better for me, lol.

Don't get me wrong, you can jig with 7 footers - I have, just not my go-to jigging rod length. But quite versatile overall, might just fit the bill for what you're looking for!

If I give guests longer rods they have a lot of trouble getting the fish close enough to the boat for me to net it. More of a pain for me really because they think nothing's wrong...
all depending on skill level of course. Wife not really a guest so would probably fine, and good practice

I think I'm going to pass for now. If you don't sell it soon I may pick it up. ;)
