Wow, that's a good deal. Thanks for the heads up! I've got a friend looking for an auger...going to pass that along.

I know Jan... he is as meticulous as it gets with his stuff... i'm pretty sure he told me this was his fathers and has seen very little use... was out of my price range last year when he started thinking about selling it.
also, if you wanted to explore any bit of Nopiming between the junction and Davidson Lake, he's the guy you wanna go with... knows every creek and ridge there is out that way.

Good buy if you picked that up Bryan! I passed it on to my buddy who was looking for an auger....didn't want to buy something older and used by the sounds of it. His loss...If I was looking I'd have snatched that up in a heartbeat.

They're very, very well built pieces of machinery.

They're made for commercial use. The amount of hours that engine is designed to run is substantially more than that of consumer grade equipment (viper, solo, etc..).

The only problem you might run into is parts availability. That said, take care of it, and you probably won't ever need any!

A few guys here can vouch for their reliability...I believe @Jason7mm might run a 302..? @chrism has a couple of their newer augers, and I've got one of their 27cc power heads. They're just really nice machines.

Not sure what the output shaft is like on the 302...hoping Jason will chime in.

Absolute worst case scenario is you have an adapter made up...toss on flyte of your choice and you'd be good to go.

I've got the 305 with a Nils auger...
just remember, the airbox doubles as the choke. have Jan show you that.
mine runs on Shell Premium and Opti2 oil mixed somewhere around 70:1

if yours is like mine, it will have a long output shaft with 2 pins... just looked at Jan's post and that's what it's got. you also get an extension with this unit.
worst case if the original isn't to your liking... (i'd give it a honest try though)... i'd think you could use the extension to modify into whatever you'd like to run?

You can get an adapter at Yetmans for the strikemaster flyte - but if someone can sharpen that nils bit, go that route - they cut!
That baby will work best with an 8", 10" will work but be a tad slower.
Check this out - smaller auger, with 10" nils bit!

We should try and organize a group buy on the 10" nils bit to try and bring down the price for us!

I'll give them a call and see what kind of number we'd need to order in order to receive a price break!

Thanks guys, you have answered all my questions so far. I'll give it a go with the original flyte and blades.

Had it running, no issues there. It's in nice shape and should last a while.
