I am probably missing this somewhere in setting but do the waypoints saved on phone transferred to maps on other devices

I don't think that will happen automatically, but looks like it is possible to do it. Disclaimer, I haven't yet done it myself but seems fairly straightforward. You first need to export your waypoints aka placemarks from the device on which you created them, then you can import them into Avenza on the other devices. This page - https://support.avenzamaps.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035074732-Exporting-map-features-from-a-map - (and video below) overviews exporting, and this post details importing - https://www.avenza.com/forums/topic/transfer-waypoints-tracks-etc-to-new-phone/

Well I tried it again today and it worked. Thanks @craigm for reaching out to me to rectify this.

We’ll get that touched up, thanks @Harpz . Early next week everyone who has downloaded the “Stoney Point” map will get a notification of a new version being available, and can download it if they wish. We will get the name corrected.

my understanding of the collection folder is that you would be able to scroll from map to map without having to open each map individually. I created a collection using the Lac du Bonnet but it doesn’t automatically move to next map as you scroll. Has anyone else had this problem or am I doing something wrong

Just do a hard scroll when you get to the edge of a map @Willie 5227 ...check out Rob’s video above for a visual on what I mean.

Just to clarify, with collection functionality enabled and adjacent maps loaded into the folder, if you scroll softly once you get the edge of your currently displayed map, that map will remain in view. If you scroll hard (imagine you are looking at a list and you want to advance the list very rapidly....so you move your thumb or finger quickly in the direction you want to go) the adjacent map will open.

Avenza Maps offers some cool update functionality. Thus far we have only used it to tweak very minor presentation/label/zoom details on our maps, but just in time for the first weekend of March Maddness....we are using it to release an offshore high-resolution section of Lake Winnipeg that we refer to as The Old Delta!

For anyone that has purchased our Lake Winnipeg: south basin bundle on Avenza, The Old Delta is offered as a free addition. To download it, click on the 3 dots at the top right corner or the screen. Then click “Check for map updates”. Follow the prompts from there and you will soon have The Old Delta on your mobile device.

@Harpz , we have also corrected the spelling of Stony Point.

I have a feeling I know the answer, but....

Is there anyway to sync waypoints with the app?

Avenza has good waypoint functionality. Import/export in .gpx format.

Before I start spending money just want to clarify something,

If I load the maps before I lose service I’m good for the day as long as I don’t close the app?

with the Elite sold buying 1 or 2 maps to finish the year is definitely the easiest (reads as I’m lazy as F&$k at the moment)

Once the maps are downloaded onto your device, you don’t need cell service to use them, ie can use them “offline.” You don’t need to leave the app open, just open it up once you’re ready to use it and the maps will be ready to go.

I’ll add to this: buy the map before you go out LOL or don’t buy the whole bundle and try and download it on the ice. That is just grief waiting to happen. Now I wasn’t exactly in the best service area so that didn’t help. Ended up waiting till evening when I had wifi and also learning I could download each section individually.

That's good advice for the crowd.

Everybody has WiFi. Best off loading maps at home.....especially you Starlink dudes. Each map must be an instant complete download on your 300 down. ;)

Don't forget to watch Rob's pro tip vids on Avenza. Very informative and will get you familiar with the simplicity of the menus and teach you some quick tips.

Key thing--- if you have a tablet or 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc device----when wanting your catalog of maps on an additional device (I have a tablet with no cell service, so I duplicate everything on there at home on WiFi) you go to the store--same place you purchased the map, but when you go there with your Avenza account on the 2nd device, instead of having the price tag cost of downloading/purchasing---it has no price, and you can simply download it onto the 2nd device at no cost, post initial purchase.
