With lund dabbling in glass boats how come we don't see a glass tiller from them?

In two years of watching, I’ve seen maybe 2 of those hit the used market...

I think I’ve seen one in the last few years but I haven’t been watching closely.

It’s been awhile since Lund has offered a Pro-V tiller, glass or aluminum, demand must just not be there…

The glass tiller world is largely dominated by Yar-craft and warrior, ranger and skeeter... Lund and Larson both make/made glass tillers and those two seem to be the hardest to find on the used market, you don’t hear a lot of bad about them either... there is a pretty good chance my next rig will be a glass tiller of some sort, likely a 1890 or 2090 warrior due to the internal layout, but Yar craft isn’t out of the running yet either... If an appropriately priced 208gl tiller hit the market when I was ready it would be hard to pass up though!!!

So it appears Polaris bought Larson but they aren't continuing to make them? or just not making them at this time.

    https://www.larsonfx.com/en-us/

    https://www.polaris.com/en-us/brands/#boats

This would make the fiberglass tiller category a 2 horse race for new boats, unless I'm forgetting one. The Pro-V 208 GL seems to be 6lb smallie in MB rare,
And the Ranger or Skeeter tillers are closer to unicorn level rare.

The Lund, Ranger and Skeeter are all great looking boats but the Ranger and Skeeter had low HP ratings for 20' boats

A buddy up here has a Ranger glass tiller with a Yammy on the back. Gorgeous package.

Rangers and skeeter don’t offer any power steering (could be wrong I haven’t done much research into them, although the ranger layout is really nice) like the other two do... warrior has its own power steering system and Yar craft uses Mertens power steering system... I believe you could add the mertens to any tiller, but aftermarket does not increase the coast guard HP rating... Yes some manufacturers now offer power/hydraulic assist on the larger engines, but I don’t think anything after 175hp, Yamaha is 150hp (Hayden’s struggles with the predator)... That said for the person where power or speed (more to HP than going faster) isn’t really an issue, those 17-2o rangers and skeeter are pretty nice rigs and pretty fairly priced...

took a 90 tiller for a test run this weekend , had tiller assist with a small button by your foot. pretty nice feature takes the weight off your arm on long straight runs

    This guys getting 48mph with a 150hp in a 20’ skeeter.

And I can’t find it again but I found a post somewhere last night of a guy getting 44mph with a 200 Verado on a 208 GL tiller

I missed out on a 1895 Yar-craft tiller with a 150 Yamaha on it this spring... it was a 50mph rig according to the owner and that’s right where they should run give or take IMO... guys are low to mid 40’s with the older 2090 warriors by all accounts...

By comparison, first year of lund mania @Mike B. and roger were boat #1, I was boat #3, we headed the same direction and were pretty much side by side the whole way... Mike might remember, think that was a 2010 pro-guide with a 175 and I had the 1900 ifs with a 200 and we both ran in that 49-50mph range...

I've come across a few different boats in the last 6 months or so that got my attention and had me interested but almost all of them had motors I wasn't excited about, those older L4 Verado's show up on quite a few 20' tiller rigs and much prefer a 250 Pro-XS that weighs about 5lbs less than the L4

Yeah I pretty much won’t even entertain an etec or older verado... Just keep on scrolling lol... The right older rig for the right price I’d consider just repowering it... I’m a mechanic during the day, I don’t want to wrench on my stuff at home too, that’s why I have Yamaha outboards and ford trucks!!! Lol
