Propane hose

    That is not the reason they recommend a filter, propane does not have contaminants in it.

    When using the 1lb connection/regulator inside the unit to a bulk tank..........the gas moving thru the length hose at high pressure forces plasticizers/contaminants out of the hose and they flow with the gas into the heater, they clog up the small passages inside and impede the operation of the heater.

    When using the quick connect hose, the regulator is at the tank and reduces pressure before the gas flows thru the hose, so no issues with that hose

    Is Green line still the best option around?

    Definitely need a better quality hose in this weather

    That will work. After a couple of seasons of use expect it to get stiff though. Great summer/spring/fall hose. Eventual shit winter hose
