    Good things take time, unforetunately!

Complete details are on our website regarding upgrade process and pricing....but if you do the pro-am upgrade option, 2015 - 2016 complete catalog is only $35. For those that purchased an area specific chip last year and want to upgrade to 2016 complete catalog, we are offering that option on the website too.

Also, we are offering free shipping on chips ordered through our website....generally orders within Winnipeg and southern manitoba are delivered 2-3 business days after we receive your order.

Possible to do the Pro Am thing, but have somebody else bring my card for me? Work is unfortunately in the way that day.

    Awesome, just pre-ordered.

Pinawa Channel is an interesting addition...I was out there a few weeks ago and was thinking I'd actually love to see a depth chart for the area.

Yep, as long as the serial number checks out shouldn't be a problem!

Don't need to answer this but does lowrance hook you guys up or do you work closely with them ? Considering how many people switch companies or go buy lowrance because your maps are a key selling point !

What inmate posted is correct. To elaborate a bit....we have a licensing agreement with Navico. They provide us proprietary software/hardware tools needed to encrypt the cards (copy protection). Those tools are only one small part of the map creation equation, but they are integral. Navico also sells our maps on their online Go Free shop, so people who wish to purchase our data for only a single lake (say they have a cabin and never fish anywhere else) have the option of a digital download. By the way, the Go Free shop "search" method has just been significantly revised.....now you can use a google map type approach to search for content (ours and other "small time" companies like us producing high quality maps in the US, Europe, South Africa...its pretty cool).

Are you in discussions or have had recent discussions with Humminbird to have them offer you the software to expand your sales and put them on more of an even competitive ground or is the market just too small at this point in where your mapping is completed and Lowrance will now just crush the MB, NW Ontario market because of this advantage?
Uhhh Humminbird, I've seen people dumping your units to get your competitor's units just because they are compatible with this mapping....

We have a few feelers out, but at present nothing is in the works (not even close). Navico (Lowrance) made a conscious business decision a couple years ago to offer the tools to small third-party companies to produce copy-protected maps, and we, like pretty much every other other small mapping company that I am aware of, jumped at the opportunity! Prior to that, all we could offer was block-mounted print maps.

I don't really know what else to say at this point. Right now, I know that we could sell WAY more maps if we were compatible with Humminbird. That's the way the current (say previous 5 years of sonar sales) market share is up here. However, it is my suspicion that our maps will dramatically alter the sonar market in this neck of the woods....trying not to toot our horn too loud here to rationalize that opinion, but they really are a game changer.

Steve, I know. I've seen the ads. Craig M, is your mapping readily transferable if HB wished it? Would it take years or could what you have just be copied over now if you also partnered with HB or is that not allowed under your current agreement? Maybe you can't or shouldn't be talking about it but just wondering if the possibility is there for a quick turnaround on to equipment that I already own.
Congratulations on your product and about to explode success btw.

I honestly have no idea. It's unlikely we would have to collect new data.....but there are so many software/hardware unknowns and licensing uncertainties that I can't really even make an informed comment about timeline, even if we had a deal with humminbird signed tomorrow. And that ain't happening.....so right now and for the foreseeable future, we are Navico exclusive. (And don't feel bad about asking - the "are you compatible with humminbird" question is our most common by far)

Just dump your crappy birds guys, you won't regret it :) .

......it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission

Gen2 HDS 9's are $1500 if you look in the right places.

Just add it down the road once the dollar strengthens. Or go with the 7 with SS for same price.
