The other explanation is - his boat lists hard because of the weight of the beer coolers. He has to mount his ducers at an angle to compensate.

I thought it was because the foam was soggier on one side than the other

    1. The transducer is much too high.
    2. I always mount transducer boards parallel to the bottom of the hull.

If you’d like, I’ll remount it for you, properly, for free.

Spoon, have a plan and figure out what you are doing before you drill any more holes in your boat. Figure it all out in advance and drill once. A bunch of unnecessary holes in your hull below waterline is not a good thing imo. I never take drilling into my hull or transom lightly.

I made my own board out of 3/4 “ Teflon. It’s about twice the size of the one you have and yes, mounted parallel to the hull. Lots of room for additions and adjustments.

I might have to take you up on that.... actually debating about just getting another board and putting it on the other side so I don't have to leave more holes or what not

You can patch up the old holes with 3M 4200 or 5200. If you think you’ll add another sonar unit at some point, a second ducer board on the opposite side wouldn’t be a bad idea either.

    Spoon, just a reminder,
(first, I would go to Johnson plastics and get a 3" x 16" x 1" thick poly board)
    1) use marine silicone behind transducer mount board
    2) use stainless screws for both board mount as well as transducer bracket PRE DRILL THE HOLES IN TRANSDUCER BOARD for both mounting board, as well as mounting transducer bracket .
Stainless screws break easy - do not over torque!!!!!
    3) make sure the transducer bracket screws are shorter than transducer board is thick - otherwise you are into your hull, again.

better yet, take those that offered help here up on their offer. You don't want to fuck around with inexperience on something like this.

Bunks or rollers don't extend beyond the transom of the boat.....that being said, what are you going to hit them on?

The 3-in-1 ducers should be level with hull bottom. If you have the ducer in line with the bunk, then it’s a risk. Especially when power loading. Ie - you overshoot when power loading and/or twist a bit to the side.

An improperly set up trailer can have bunks that extend beyond the hull.

Interesting It's in line with the bunk right now. Might be able to drop a bit more and see if that helps

The are below by enough for them to be level.

I would have the Ghost through my tailgate if I went up far enough to hit them on the bunk.

Deadheads are always a possibility but I will take the risk.

I suspect once you re-do the board your ducer will be closer to the centre line and away from the bunk.

I’d want to recheck the level on that ducer…….

When it comes to you Spoon, I don't think we can take anything as "obvious", LOL!
