I'm happy with all my 'off the shelf' rods, but those do look nice.

Just a comment/question---but why would one want a split grip on a rod you will never cast with? Unless it balances the rod, I can't see it being useful? Split grip was originally designed and marketted by rod builders to be "trendy", but in reality, it was a way for them to save money on cork........so I'm just wondering if anyone prefers it? If so, is it a balance thing with the reel you choose to pair it with? Thanks.

Sidenote--I do not like split grip. Reason- not comfortable on any rod I've used. (all longer rods for fishing from a boat).

Wow those are some pricey rods for a limp noodle. Can't you get the same effect will a far less expensive glass rod? Just saying given you're fishing straight up and down.

I like shiny things. I will consider any decent noodle rod for panfish.

What type of application are you looking for a panfish noodle? Generally the only time I'd like a longer noodle rod for panfish is for dead sticking when the weather is mild and fishing outside a shelter. If a light bite is concerned why not go to a nice panfish rod with a spring bobber for a fraction of the price of a TUCR. http://stores.clamoutdoors.com/jason-mitchell/rods-combos/jm-spring-bobber-ice-rods.html
