The fact you asked this question proves you've never held a spark plug lol

If you've never used a spark plug on a tied directly into your main line dropshot or pickerel rig then you had a much better allowance growing up as a kid than me and my friends did! Hell we even had to use an old foam couch cushion to make imitation spawn sacks for our salmon fishing.

All you need is a 5-O-Diamonds, a 3-pack of rigs and some old spark plugs....case closed, shut down the tips section.

What do I use to keep my rod up while sipping on my beer at Lockport, stick it in the mud?

They make these fancy wire coil rod holders that stick into the ground to hold your fishing rod but a true bank fisherman cuts a switch and whittles it to a honed killing point that bends back nicely to create a barb when pushed into gravel. If you are really savvy you can make a two rod model but that takes some practice. It's not for the lazy as it takes time to develop the skills necessary to make one that doesn't keep falling over. That requires many trips from your lawn chair to your rods/rod holder to set it back up and tweek until it's an engineered feat of balanced perfection.

Our cats would straight up fuck a coil spring rod holder......... forked sticks must be of oak, fire hardened and driven at least 5' into the red river gumbo.....

Best is a peice of pipe bolted to a peice on angle iron with a v point grinded into it that way you can bash googans if they come too close

And I will add, when you use a spark plug for a weight you MUST hammer the gap closed or it will fly off when you cast!!
