I am not a furnace guy but did install our furnace 9 years ago. What I have learned is home furnaces are generally oversized. Our 1600 sq ' raised bungalow power smart home had a gas furnace rated at about 22kW equivalent. I replaced this with a 18kW electric and for the last 7 years have only used the mild weather mode = 9kW. Even on the coldest night in the past 7 years the duty cycle of our furnace is less than 50%. I am pretty sure our home could be heated by a 5kW continuous duty heater...more efficient and more comfortable. And no I don't make my family wear parkas inside LOL, temp set at 22 C measured at 6' in the kitchen.

Sorry to sidetrack but if no one from CFF comes forward, my go to guy would be Brian Baker president of Custom Vac.

Hassett is a good choice and he's from that area more or less. If you don't find one PM me and I'll get you my cousins number.

As for what Dave said, there was a long time where 'bigger is better' was the mentality. I've seen houses with furnaces double the size they need to be. Lots of problems can happen when you do that.

I've got a 1600sq/ft house with unfinished basement and the math came out to 70,000 btu. I ended up going 80,000 as I wanted a variable speed DC motor and that wasn't available with a 70000. Overall I am very happy with it.

I dont need a new one. Mine just wont heat up to set temp. Not sure if its the furnace or the hrv setting. From my research i believe it is a sequencer issue.

    Thanks

    Inmate i will text you
