V8 with 200k, working 4x4, 2" lift, KN Filter, upgraded exhaust, tow package, cruise control, command start and some body rust. Will need tires for safety for sure unsure what else. $2500 OBO as is.

    Pics available if interested.

Just what I've found-- tough to sell without a safety. My '04 is going in to Paul tomorrow. Once safetied, I don't think trucks like yours and mine last long.

Unless someone wants to put tracks on it and trailer it to ice fishing destinations!

Agreed on the safety thing.....pretty specific buyer that will pick up non-saftied vehicles, far and few between IMO.

Good luck with your sale though, those Dakota's were pretty strong/good mid-size trucks.........shit , can't believe I said that!!!!!!

Guys that are very comfortable turning their own wrenches, farmers that use it on their properties, and even more rare-- the ice fisherman that has a want for a dedicated ice fishing truck.....either way, you need to hit the right markets and have a TON of patience.

Good luck with the sale buddy. But it couldn't hurt to take it to Paul at Lube King. Safety inspection is about $185 iirc.

Heads up-- if any parts need replacing, they are often lifetime warranty, like ball joints and the like. Tires-- Costco can put some light truck tires on for prob around 700-1100 (new KO2 are like $1200 or so, but I wouldn't go high end) or even better, look for used rubber ....I'd check it first for what it needs for safety, if it's around a grand, get it done, put the truck up again for 3500 safetied and see if you get any bites...I bet you will if you put "safetied" in the title of the ad. If it needs body work to the tune of 2 grand....screw it, look for a farmer to buy it, or make friends with Bondo Calrusian

Yeah it's not proving to be easy to move a working 4x4 for $2500. I have had a few guys look at it, try to chip me down so maybe I'll give in to one of them sooner than later. I'm basically just trying to cover my operating costs for the past 3 years.

If safetied even in my trucks condition they're in the $4500 range so I figured this would be a fast sell. There's so many ads and vehicles in the marketplaces that I'm noticing my ads just sink like a rock.

Thanks for the comments fellas, appreciate the advise as always.

Good luck on your sale. I've bought before unsafetied and it cost me more than I expected to get it licensed. It's been generally good since but tried selling it last year for a fraction of what I paid for it a few years ago (not to mention all the repairs since then) and I couldn't get anyone interested without a fresh safety. So I've kept it and just use to tow the boat and as a backup vehicle. If someone can do the work themselves then it might be a good deal and I'm guessing they're trying to pay as little as possible without even an inspection (~$1000 - $1500). The rust by itself will cost some $$$ at a shop, and who knows what else needs to be done. It's really your call how you want to play this, but if you did get an inspection done (which last time I did it was for under $100 at my mechanic) then at least you have an argument to base your valuation on. If not, it's all just a guessing game and some people are more willing to take risks than others in order to find a good deal.

Definitely the sellers choice on how to play it, but I kept it simple--if it doesnt need body work to pass safety, (mine doesn't) it's worth it, for the sake of getting it gone so I don't have to insure it, or deal with tire kickers for months upon months.

Yeah I think I'm going to have to get a inspection done and re-evaluate from there. I really have no interest in keeping the vehicle as I recently got something that will fill our needs. I bought this thing to tow my boat to kenora and it was lucky to leave the driveway 4 days a month.

The half price offers are looking better by the day haha just had some guy ask me to let him pay $500 increments..... lol

I cannot fricken stand kijiji fucktards with no lives, no jobs and nothing better to do than arrange meetings to look at items they have zero intention of buying anywhere near the asking price....and don't even show up.

Do you have to lend him the 1st instalment? Does he get a discount if shows up again to give you the 2nd instalment?
