7 is to small. I wouldn't buy anything under 9".

It's GPS only Ernie. Would be strictly for running agm/navionics while your other big screens are running SI, DI, 2D ;)

No sonar. Just a GPS unit

I believe the M stands for mapping. As in, it's only for displaying/creating maps. No sonar.

That's why I tagged who I did. I was trying to remember who all ran an HDS already and might be interested in a dedicated mapping unit. Even if it is too small for @Ernie 's eyes ;)

When buying on ebay, I never bother with auctions, I always filter to buy it now. I find its usually a waste of time to watch and wait for auctions. They usually go for more than the buy it now prices. I guess people get caught up in the bidding war, or have their friends bid on their items.

I've learned you have to be really really patient. I eventually got my HDS 7 touch but I weeded through a ton of auctions.

the HDS7m non-touch can be found online for $400-500 ish, touch add $100. I saw the 7m touch at the Fargo sportshow (new, full warranty) for $449 USD. My thoughts tho were why not spend an extra 2 hun and get the full unit, that way you always have a backup sonar (and even a spare transducer)

That's why I passed @chrism I'll be adding either another 7 touch or 9 touch hopefully by fall. Turns out you can't have too many screens

What are you going to be doing with all those screens @Inmate? Watching movies and eating popcorn instead of fishing?

No, when I get a chance I fish pretty hard. I just never kept up with the electronics over the last decade. Now I'm in head first
