    Hi! I have a problem. My brain is frozen. Open water sucks the big mighty, when you walk on water, that's the real fishing season!

    I love ice fishing, and nothing else.

    Don't eat all my muffins, and I can be friends with anyone.

    How come some hate open water so much? Don't get me wrong I love ice fishing and things I miss about it in the summer, just curious what the turn off to fishing from a boat is?

    I spent so much time guiding when I was younger, lost interest in open water. Cats are ok, but i don't own a boat, so it's easier for me to cover water in the winter. Plus, I'm built like a polar bear. Love the winter.

    Yes I do love winter myself, can't wait for a frost to get rid of the Mosquitos. So bad at my house, was cleaning the boat up tonight, right at dusk they came out heavy

    open water= more googans, morons on jet skis, skeetz, and sunburn

    hard water= pure epic awesomeness and snowmobiles!... dont really see a down side... hell the colder the better!

    I think if you went out with someone like Garth (Big China) to pine Falls in early November you'd change your tune Cam. tons of Greenbacks, cold weather, loads of fish. Way less equipment prep and loading/unloading from a boat too, which is what I get annoyed with in winter. I still don't get how someone can love fishing but have no interest in being in a boat...and "Cats are ok"....? that one I really don't get. You'd sooner go for Cats on the tampoon river than slay Walleye, Bass, Lake Trout or Crappie in the Canadian Shield? .....to each their own tho

    I think maybe you just hang with the wrong crowd Mister :grinning:
