Selling my Ice 45 - it was my spare, so I didn't use it a ton, but I did purchase the unit used a couple years ago. Works great, could use a new battery, but the current one will still last for a whole trip. Comes with charger. $380

I know I could've probably held out and sold it for more, but I discounted the price knowing the battery will need replacing. It works perfect, but cosmetically it shows some use, so I thought I'd pass along a deal to someone who was looking for their first flasher.

Only sold it because I made a bit of an impulse buy this evening at Cabela's on an Ice 55...I have a feeling someone made an error with the pricing gun, so I snatched it up quick!

I bought from Cabelas online what I thought was a great deal. Too bad it was too good to be true. They emailed me saying that they weren't going to stand by the price because it was a mistake. I've heard of people taking them to court and winning since they already processed the order and got an authorization from my credit card. It's just not worth the hassle... also searched online and this seems to happen often with Cabelas.

On the other hand, if at store... cash and carry. Once you're out the door... it's yours.

Just out of curiosity, what was the too good to be true online price?

They did this to me online once with some guidewear stuff.

    Mustang Catalyst Flotation Jacket $49.97

    Email I received:

"When you had placed your order online, we had a pricing error posted on our website. For item 95734002, the website had a listed price of $49.97, in which we were quick to resolve, but were unable to do so before several orders were made. The actual price for the item is $399.99, and we are offering the price of $269.99 which is still a savings of $130.00 from the original price. Unfortunately, we are unable to honor the price posted in error for you, in which we do apologize."

That's pretty standard fare for online retailers, unfortunately. I tried getting a $99 big screen from best buy a couple years back. It sold and was in the 'shipping' phase before they caught it. They had it in their legalese that they reserve the right to change the price and that it's not always accurate.

Nice to hear you got an upgrade and someone got a deal out of it though.

A guy I met was telling me a story where he had his lawyer friend write up a letter stating pretty much that by accepting the credit card information and processing the purchase that it is a legal contract and that if they (another company) did not abide by the offer that he would not only take them to court for the difference, but also the cost of his legal defense. They backed down and gave it to him for the advertised price.

The Ice 55 wasn't THAT big a deal where it was like 1/4 of retail or anything, but I still think they had it marked down too far based upon my past bargain cave deals. I did still pay more for the Ice 55 than what I sold my Ice 45 for.

When I ordered a guidewear jacket a couple years ago it was really cheap....got an email 10 days after I ordered saying it was back ordered and would ship when more stock became available. Waited and waited...finally called and they said they cancelled my order and didn't really give an explanation.

Completely agree. But they have a boatload (pardon the pun) of lawyers sitting around doing nothing and I don't.

Bargain cave sometimes has good deals and someones it's just a place to put their odd items. I've also seen errors in pricing and putting the wrong tags on items.

Did some reading regarding pricing policies and rules in the competition bureau. In a nutshell they can stop shipment if they priced the item wrong and made steps to immediately correct it.
You can still make a complaint as they are dealt with on a case by case basis.

@Jneuf would've had a good case because they backordered the item essentially confirming that he was going to get his suit.

Guy payed without saying anything. Kind of a shitty thing to do but better than straight up stealing shit I guess
