Being the cheapskate that I am, I was wondering if any forum members had any backpacking/lightweight camping gear collecting dust that they would be willing to part with?

    Wish list:

    2 man tent
    sleeping bag
    sleeping pad
    cooking items
    coffee perc
    etc...

    Cheers

I’ve got a few of those. When do you need them?

I have some stuff - tent and bag - but its a 4-5 man tent, North Face Himalayan Hotel - windproof and waterproof, very good if not one of the best backcountry tents ever made - Buddy's buddy was the TNF product rep so i got some good stuff from him - PM me for more details if you're interested, but beware it is not a cheap tent

Like @chrism mentioned, North Face tents are excellent. I know you might be looking for used, but Atmosphere currently has the Stormbreak 2 on sale for $175 (20% off). I have this model, and I'll vouch for the quality. Packs up super small, super light, sets up in minutes, and is very water and wind proof. Was backcountry camping with some buddies last year and we got dumped on pretty good with rain...I was the only one that stayed dry, and I didn't even have the footprint setup beneath it.

I'm looking for a solo tent, and definitely won't be going on an Everest expedition lol.
I'll pass on this one Chris. Thanks though.

Don’t have the exact one but it’s got good reviews for the price..

mine just has longer sides designed to fold over yourself. Not really a “tent” but very comfortable and easy to fall asleep in...especially strung up beside the fire.....

It packs up pretty small so it always comes with me on camping trips even if I bring a tent.
