Prefer with reverse, electric start, 488cc similar to this. Let me know if you know of one for sale. Screenshot_20211124-000503_DuckDuckGo.jpg

Good choice! I have this exact year, model and engine. It has been bulletproof so far for towing my flip up on LW. I would not dream of selling it.

Yeah my dad bought this identical sled new, still has it. Been a really reliable machine for him.

Not the same sled. Pretty sure that is a liquid cooled triple and a ticking time bomb to boot.

Yes talked to this fellow. No reverse or electric start, and it's a 600 triple. Haven't heard many good things about triples from any brand, but this model did have a known issue too. Thanks for the thought though. Appreciated!

Stay away from those mono block triples, like tony says ticking time bomb.

You know anything about the 600 twins @Tony ? I've got a tip on an 03 600 twin.
And another on exactly what I want. May be too late though...

Yes, I have also heard bad things about the triple. Does the XLT designation specifically mean that it is a triple, liquid cooled engine?

    Stands for:
    Xtra Light Triple

There are several triples that were amazing machines… but not exactly the best ice fishing engine. 01 Yamaha SRX 700 is one of my favs.

Polaris? Those 60o Polaris Liberty engines were pretty bullet proof, decent performers also with the right mods.

What @Gotaf7 says, those 600 twins are good engines and make good power. It is liquid cooled though.

I saw a few on kijiji last night that might work for you. Prices seemed reasonable.

Yup. Started 2nd pull first time, and first pull the other 2 times I started it(no battery). Seems to be in great overall shape for the year. Bonus was it has 1 1/4 track. Excited to get the ice season started, and figuring out a run and gun set up with for it. Been a while since I've been on a sled.
