    Does anyone have a gimbal bracket that would work with a HDS 7 kicking around that they don't need? I really dont want to buy new if I can help it.

    Does the one off the five you brought me work? If so you can have it.

    @Dwyton I wonder what size the one that came with your boat is for.

    ^^^^ :laughing: I find that hard to believe Tony.

    Actually, if you're just going to use the hds-7 as a portable winter sonar, I'd fab a dirty one up using angled aluminum. Hacksaw, drill, a couple bolts and ny-loks and a metal file to clean it up....vee-ola

    Actually the more I think about it I have a piece of aluminum at home I could probably fab something up. If not I know I have chunks of plywood and 2x4s kicking around.

    You can move this to sold please @Ernie.

    You're very capable on your own, but if you wanna fart around with it over a beer (which I'll provide), lemme know. Bring that ol fart @Mike too! :)

    Just do what I did for the first year I had mine.
    A 1"x1" piece of wood.
    Cost = zero

    Two 4" L-brackets from HomeHardware.
    Cost = approx $5.00.

    Worked just fine.

    Ya I guess I'm overthinking it. It doesn't have to be pretty.

    Nope, it doesnt have to be pretty, especially if it's going into a Clam bag or something similar.

    Princess Auto has angled aluminum I believe, if you go that route.......or get Tinman to diamond plate a case up for you haha....actually, that sounds kinda cool ....heavy and maybe clunky, but cool and shiny.

    I like shiny things.

    They don't have to be pretty they just have to hold!!!

    But if they do both......

    Week and a half or so ago I built this 14" reamer/encasement puller... she handled close to 70000lbs of pull force, I was happy lmao
