Looking for an anvil

    I am looking for an anvil as I want to start making knives and doing other small blacksmithing projects.

    I have been trying to track down an old forgotten one from friends old abandoned barns but haven't had any luck yet.

    Depending on the size of your projects, a piece of train track can be shaped into an anvil-like device. If you get the higher load rated track it's supposed to be particularly desirable. I got a large piece once from a friend to trade to a welder for some repair work.

    I have a piece of track, but still looking for an anvil. My brother currently has our grandpa's.

    I think I have one buried in my shop, I will never use. I will check on it tomorrow, and let you know. I think it is on a stand, only thing is, it is in Kenora. No problem getting it up to Winnipeg or wherever, we can work something out.
