If anyone needs an LSS-2 structure scan hd transducer, gpscity.ca has them on for $309, plus 6.99 shipping and GST only. My order today came out to $332 after tax and shipping. Most places are selling them for way more (the fishin hole has them on for $425 before taxes). I wouldnt be surprised if this price goes up soon.

That's what I paid for mine. Radioworld price matched gpscity.

With the introduction of their 3D and TotalScan ducers, the Lss2 will be the next to be "no longer available".

Its time for any one with a touch Gen2 that is thinking of structure scan to get their LSS2 transducer. The new TotalScan currently will not work unless Lowrance comes out with a software update. An adapter would also be required, the TotalScan has a 9-pin connector.

I think Lowrance likely does the easy thing and just discontinues those items.....it's cheaper for them, and it also urges the consumer to update their hardware to have the latest and greatest....more money flowing in, as opposed to a cost associated with making software updates and manufacturing adapters.....but who knows

Just a heads up---a good friend of mine has the Structure Scan module needed for 1st Gen HDS units, for sale.

Brand new in box never used. He has a Gen2 so he doesnt need the module, just the SS skimmer

Just saw the Gen 3's being sold. Whats the new gimmick for the gen 3 over the 2? Just faster processing?

One difference @robm pointed out when he and craig had their units at pro am, was with the gen 3, you can zoom in and out of mapping by spreading your fingers. On the gen 2 touch you need to use the zoom buttons.

The gen 2 units need the ss module for ss, the gen 2 touch and gen 3 units have the module built in. The gen 3 units are touch and have buttons. The gen 2 touch only has a few buttons. These are just some of the differences I noticed.

@lake-fisher - I'm beginning to think you and I were talking to Rob and Craig at the same time the day we were getting our cards updated at pro-am.

That's very possible. Pro-Am is @lake-fisher's home away from home. :D:D:D

There isn't a heck of a lot different between the gen2touch models and the gen3s....most of the important stuff has already been mentioned.

Let us know how your first date goes guys ;)

Bwahahaha. I just had to be "that asshole"

No offence intended at all, hope you guys can take a dumb joke....I just had to type that.....cuz I think being an asshole is funny sometimes...and it's friday..and well...maybe I'm an asshole :D

I was training a Philipino guy, pretty new to Canada, at work a few yrs ago. It was a nice Summer day and after we finished a service call there was a park bench by the river close to St. John's Ravenscourt where we sat and had lunch. Group of 4 or 5, 17 or so yr old kids drove by in a car.....one kid hanging out the window yells to us-- "kiss him already!!" I thought it was pretty damn funny. New guy was like-- "Why he say that?" ...I just kept laughing...a bit embarrassed, but it was a good one.

This reminds me, I need to place my order for my "will put out for waypoints" t-shirt. You'll find me lingering in the back of tackle shops....near the cooler with nitro worms.

    Just a bit.

Stage fright is real tho. If we're lucky enough to make the stage this yr at Lundmania you'll see me clam up :flushed:

Still don't know what I'll do when I make the big stage... I don't do public speaking or standing up in front of people well.... But if @Mike B. And @Ernie, @Bryan (who else am I forgetting @craigm?) go first I might be okay lol

    Hijacked lol

If I get called up at ANY time, I believe stage fright will be my least worry! I'd feel extremely honored.

It's a packed house there every year, and Gauthier gets the crowd right into it.

I'm just gonna say- "I like fishing." Just like the kid in A Christmas Story in the line up to see Santa. ("I like the Wizard of Oz.....")
