I have a net that the “coating “ on the net is gone. I like the net, no need to replace the “ basket” but I hate my hooks getting caught in it. I know people spray a rubber coating back on, but what are they using, under coating ??? What can I get/use that’s local. Thanks

The undercoating/flex seal/rubber spray type stuff is usually oil/mineral based and may melt in hot weather. Messy. You want that stuff on your boat floor?
And as for longetivity? who knows. Most of that stuff peels off surprisingly sooner than later (Plasti-dip).
Beware, The 'good' spray coatings (3m) might cost more than the net mesh itself.

If i was to use anything, cost no object, and time no object, i would get 3-4 tubes of shoe-goo and do every single strand. Again - Cost/time effective? Nope. Will it work? yes.

Not sure your net size, but Amazon would be a good place to start for good netting that is inexpensive.
The local shops would have too. Its super easy/quick to change, i have done many.

Go through my friends list on fbook and send Kevin Friesen a msg. I bet he can offer a pliable coating that you're looking for. He's a farmer with a spray booth and uses some pretty unique coatings to do rust proofing and truck bed liners/ag equipment.

There's gotta be a way to soften the bed liner. Seems like the same material, just more pliable.

Either way, lemme know if you find something

I think my Loki net will need this in a few seasons as I believe it's been discontinued for some silly reason. It's near 20 yrs old

This seems like the equivalent effort of re-treading old tires, VS simply buying new tires.

Frabill has replacement rubber mesh for 30$ ,
A can of rubber spray probably is going to cost $20
