Roll the dice on a Humminbird 797C2 GPS Fishing system

    Cleaning house here....this one has sat unused for probably 5 years after we moved to Lowrance.

    Here is the caveat: equipment manager's last note for it was that it was in need of repairs. I am able to power on the unit, screen looks good, everything boots up. Plug in transducer, and it ticks....but I can't get a return for any beam to show up on screen. I know very little about Humminbird, and am not inclined to troubleshoot....so this could be a simple fix. If you think it is and want to roll the dice.

    Unit, mount, transducer (might be functioning??), external GPS puck (I'm assuming there is no internal GPS on this unit).

    Okay........ I have a HB ducer here, its only DI but should tell the story if its the ducer.... You around tomorrow during the day???

    Ok, so @Patty checked this out. Seems like the transducer that we have has a reception problem....signals received seem to be weak/intermittently received. Patty's transducer worked fine. So I think this unit would be fine if you bought your own transducer. Still priced to move at $50.
