New Kayak jigging rod is going to be a ...

Frabill, 38"MH Gussy Ice Hunter rod, and it was under $40 (new).

It's odd that a person can't find a short open water spinning rod (under 48") for this growing activity (kayak fishing).
Manitoba land of a 100'000 lakes ... but only a few tackle shops (and once their out they are out).

Got two St. Croix Premier ice rods, brand new, had them put away and forgot about them, found them at the end of this years ice season, that's what happens when you have too much shit, you forget 'bout stuff!!!!! Not exactly what your looking for for but if you interested make me an offer!

PIR 36 HM.........36" medium heavy, taper looks to be xfast, they don't list anything on their ice rods and it's tough to tell on such a short rod

PIR 42M.............42" medium, taper looks to be xfast, they don't list anything on their ice rods and it's tough to tell on such a short rod

They both have handles with rod seats.

I gave him Adams number last week. Guy is a master at what he does.

I've approached Adam to repair the rod Chris has kindly offered.
I also approached him for a quote, but it ended up being to much rod for what I'm doing (vertical jigging from a Yak ... for fish).

One thing I've learned while vertical jigging from a Yak for fish ... you don't need to use a crazy fancy rod.
My preference is a heavier Ice Fishing rod MH or H (36-42") rod with a larger Ice Fishing handle or open water rod handle.
In addition to the fun factor, I have better rod tip control which makes things manageable and safer.

Being so close to the water when using a short rod; it's pretty easy to feel the lightest tap tap.
It's a blast hooking a ginormous Drum, large Pike or Walleye on a MH Ice Rod during the warm months.
