I'm looking to purchase an ice rod for lakers. Heavy action, preferably no shorter that 34 inches. Preferably to use with a baitcaster. Anyone have one for sale?

If you can find a 42" Rapala R type buy it. Wicked rod for big greenbacks and lakers

Other option is custom. Talk to Craig Ferris at Big Windy Custom Rods, he's located at Balsam Bay, check out his website, he builds nice rods

Pro am has a lot of options. When I was there the other day they had the new Jeff "Gussy" Gustafson ice rod combos in stock. Also the Fenwich elite tech 42" rods.

The 48" one piece and two piece med/heavy rod combos are on sale for $61, but are right hand retrieve reels, no left hand retrieve reels.

I noticed them at the fishin hole, but not sure which lengths they had there (note: the price was not discounted at the hole). If you cant find one locally, it comes out to $76 after gst and shipping for the combo shipped to your door. (Rapala.ca does not charge pst).

We were hoping to find someone who wants to upgrade their rod n therefore sell their used one.
For our first laker outing we didn't want to go to pricey on rods... I scored a decent deal for @desiel with the rod Coward offered for sale a week ago.
For myself I just picked up a cheat $20 broom handle from WSS. I figure I'll manage... I'll upgrade later. Just need one more for Miss Tess n we're set for our first laker hunt.

I have my old laker rod but it's more of a eastern laker rod not a up north laker rod. It's a 28MH but it feels closer to a H than a M.

If you're interested just let me know and we will figure out a way to get it to you. (I'm not allowed to go very far these days lol)

That's exactly why I got a new one! I ended up getting a Frabill Gussy and really enjoy it. I use it for ripping cranks on the big lake too.

@Ernie I have a spare laker rod I can lend you if you want. Text me when you're going. If I'm not doing lakers that week I'll have a couple you can use. I've got a couple 38's and a 40 or 42 I can't remember off hand.
