Went to Moak on the weekend and left the boat at home, just too windy. Chris mentioned offshore fishing for trout on Footprint.
Took out the bobber tackle and was frustrated to my limit trying to get 6 lb fluoro through the bobber. I ended up wrapping it around some thin wire and it finally made it through.
Got home and did some head scratching and came up with this.
Twist tie with wire bare at the end with a loop, works great.

    3 rainbows and one brookie.
    Thanks for the advise @chrism.
Before Chris says anything my wife caught the 3 rainbows.

I know I’ve seen a tool for sale for this exact thing. Yours works perfect.

Crochet hooks or whatever they are I’ve heard people use…

some guys just suck the line through the bobber like a vacuum… it’s not too awkward unless the guy put his hand on the back of his head while doing it….

    Hey gord.

those wobble bobbers you choose to use (of course ) are hollow inside so a single strand of line has issues going threw even more if it’s thin braided line.

So fold the line on 2 then twist it together then push it threw.

I like the pencil style in line float. It’s like a needle that goes threw the bobber with the wobble bobber moulded to the sides. The line goes threw easily and bobber stands upright nice. You can also fold the line if it gives you issues..

Nice trout. / the wife out fished you again. Lol

    cheers

Wobble Bobbers are great, I've been using them for years as they cast better than other styles. Threading line through them is tough with the grommets catching the line, that's the lone drawback I've found.

They are in my bobber box. I usually tie them up before I go out anyway. They even have a needle threader included. Lol
