$2000 would be reasonable if it were safetied.

get it safetied man... i tried to sell a 96 Ranger for a couple months as is... cost me $500 to safety and i sold for an extra $2000 over what I originally asked. (got 6K and it had 400K on it lol)
as-is cars are extremely hard to get rid of - especially when they are priced at least 3-5 times above what the guys buying wholesale cars at the dealer for.

hope you're not into this car for too much already.

If you're into it deep, I'd suggest keeping it and driving it till its in the sort of condition that the guys who buy "as-is" are willing to pay (like 300-500 bucks). Gives you time to wrench on your truck if that needs any work and you'll be saving on gas all the while and be able to pick up parts and work on it without any rush. I see it as an opportunity to really clean up an older truck nicely - could pull the engine to replace all the gaskets easily, replace the suspension, u joints, ball joints, build an exhaust, even do the cab bushings. There could be lemonade to be had if you keep driving the minty '95.

I'll just go ahead and close this thread. If anyone is remotely interested in the item being offered for sale they can PM the OP.

Spoon, let me know when this sells so I can move it to the SOLD forum. In the meantime, I suggest you edit the ad if you want any hope in hell of selling it. Your asking price is ridiculous to say the least. To the point where I thought you were joking by posting this. Being an advertising consultant myself, I was gonna give you few pointers but I'm not gonna bother. I highly doubt my educated advise would be followed.

    So be it.
