You know, I was seriously considering this boat. Too bad it was a tiller. If it had a wheel, I'm sure I would have picked this up.
I don't think you undervalued the boat, @craigm... I believe you were offering a wicked deal for some fellow Angler's. Turns out the dude who bought it doesn't give two shits about fishing and just wants to make a quick buck. Ugh. Sorry is turned out this way.

This rubs me the wrong way. It's one thing to travel a good distance to buy something with the intention of flipping it locally...It's another thing to drive across the city to buy it and immediately re-list it @ 25% mark-up.

Sounds a lot like a local who lives in St. Norbert who buys used fishing/camping gear, marks it up and sells it in his basement...

I asked about the other Pro-Guide he had on kijiji after the deal was made....he said it was too big for him. He only had it for less than a year (I suspect it may actually have been less than a month, because a very similar was posted in Brandon a few weeks ago). He mentioned a couple times that my boat might be too big for him also....but if it was he would just sell it. So I kinda got the feeling that something was up....but at that point we'd agreed on the price..... what can one do? The guy isn't doing anything illegal by flipping boats.

Why would anybody be angry at an entrpeneur that has some cash built up and is willing to risk a large purchase to make a few dollars? No different than any other kind of business with a buy low sell high philosophy. Craig asked a price, got it and was happy with the sale on what he thought the boat was worth. Lets face it nobody is selling large ticket items on Kijiji thinking they can get $2-3K more than they are asking because they want to give a fellow fisherman a deal. Boats are a different animal than cars and the market value really differs.

I don't think anyone's really angry. It was priced to sell and wanted it to go to a good home, just reading the original add and all the pictures made me want to buy it. Now buddy buys, it puts a half ass description up and prices it high, he could sit on it all summer. Just would have been nice to see someone enjoy it , and they still might just gonna have to pay a little more.
