    LOL, don't jinx it!

In all seriousness---Walleye tournies, Bass tournies, in both, you're competing against the fish and more importantly the field......it's all relative.
Over 90% of competitive angling is patterning the fish, but there is a luck factor as well...the best of the best will arguably narrow down the luck factor to 3% or less.

Some tournaments are tougher to place high than others. Take KWO Walleye for instance--tough. Complex lake, huge lake, big field of top pros.

Even a Catfish tourney- you gotta know the fish you're after- ie patterning, and know where the winning fish are. If i signed up and competed in a Fall Catfish tourney against experienced Catters, I'd be pretty lost I think....I just don't know the fish well enough to compete against guys like Patty Kiselback and Pearase....it's all relative.

I can't stress this enough Tony-- enjoy the pursuit of getting better! Ditch all those thoughts that you're going to be judged by the experienced guys. It might sound kind of harsh or cold, but the honest truth is, if the experienced guys don't recognize your name, they couldnt care less about how you did.....until they start seeing your name above theirs....then they take notice, but it's never a blood thirsty or harsh environment. No one looks down on "the new guy".....maybe if the new guy is clogging the ramp and holding things up, but more often than not, the new guy will be offered help with launching or putting on.....we're all friends and there's a camaraderie between tournament anglers, even tho we wanna beat each other.

Nerves are normal at your first couple take-offs, but most guys turn that into nervous excitement and adrenaline...it's something I was scared shitless of years ago...now I get fricken jacked to hear our boat number and wave then pin it! Most exciting thing in the world to me.

The Falcon bass tournament last year was really my first ever tournament, loved it. We will be doing it again.

Went from that 1 day event to signing up for a 3 day bass tournament this year. Sent the cheque and entry in last week. Can’t friggin wait!

Awesome! I just sent the balance of my entry to Brad on Friday for the Falcon Walleye Cup. This year my son will be with me so I will have someone in the boat a little more prepared. Can't wait!

I am considering doing Lundmania or Coppermine. The thing about Coppermine is it puts June into a very busy schedule. I also have a weekend planned to go out to Birch/Buffalo with a couple coworkers on June 14th-17.

This is a pic of me just before the start last year. I had my hand on my face partly because I was hungover, (took Mike's advice about mingling the night before) and partly because I was nervous as fuck. Both things made me want to puke, lol. My partner was laughing at me.

Isn’t that the only way to fish? Hungover. Especially on those screaming hot days in July and August. Lol

Yes, yes it is Gord ;)

I'm more relaxed when I'm just a touch hungover....too much is not good tho, then I just wanna eat a George's fatboy and have a nap

@Tony , if you're going to do lundmania, you'd better get an entry in real quick i think. Sells out every year.

So far, I'm signed up for Falcon Bass and Lundmania. Those are 2 I never miss...not an option. Plans to do Lac Du Bass and at least one other MBA tournament, prob Nutimik (I signed and paid for the tourney trail)

Been considering Falcon Walleye too, but not sure the date would work out....

In the next few years I'd like to give either Basin' For Bucks a try, or the KWO. Time to try a bigger one out in the next few years......

All you guys that are newish to tournies, Tony and Coward, good on you guys! The tournament scene needs new faces. Coward, you and your gal did really well at Falcon if i remember correctly!

I can see Lac du bass and the cape coppermine becoming big events over the next few years!!! Once people see the quality of bass it has, and after it takes 45lbs+ to win cape coppermine there will be a big field and big prize money for that event too!!!

The fuel used/cost meter sure puts into perspective the work that goes into the front end of these maps, never mind the stuff you guys do when you get home!
This is my main waterway and the biggest reason I got AEM, thanks for the hard work guys!

Don’t really fish there much but may have to give it a go.
