Pelican Lake is another new addition to the AEM catalog for 2020 - it measures approximately 17.5 km long and in places is over 1.5 km wide. Beautiful lake tucked into the valley....they have a pretty cool aeration system setup on Pelican, which probably goes a long way to limit winterkill. Our print map for this one measures 14" by 54"!

We are not sure this release is going to get a heck of a lot of use this year given the Covid-19 situation, but....we have started surveying LOTW. This years release consists of 41.3 km2 of mapped water. More to be added over time - working from west to east, we plan to survey the northern portion of the lake.

One of the cottagers we spoke to on Echo Bay late last fall was surprised 1) that we weren't affiliated with the US based survey crew he had seen working on LOTW this past summer and 2) that our transect spacing was so tight and 3) that we surveyed close to shore. I guess not all surveys adhere to the same standards. ;)

Print maps for Rush, Echo, Deception, Woodchuck are coming...but a ways off. We need to focus on getting the remaining 2020 AEM Digital content ready for release in time for Manitoba southern opener!

Sorry...and to clarify....we have already surveyed Buffalo Bay. For some reason I never think of that section as being part of LOTW.

Absolutely fucking awesome! Way to go boys! Doing it without a big crew of boats makes it even that much more impressive!

I hate to say lake-fisher has left this forum. He said he got sick hearing the political crap and hateful comments on some of the Covid-19 related threads. Too bad to lose such a nice guy and valued member here.

Really nice upgrade on those charts guys.

You guys will have lots of time to map this summer and gas is dirt cheap so no excuse there,

I don’t see any issue finishing the rest of her off this summer and probably the rest of shoal while you’re at it!
