I’ve eaten a fair share of Winnipeg river cats, smoked and fried, they are delicious when prepared right... so suck it @Mike B.

I 100% agree with @dsk about the size and growth, it was a bit of a shock to learn how old the cats of the red river system are to reach trophy size, and it really shows how Manitoba’s proactive stance on the channel cat refs has helped keep it what it is...

High 5'er for your sense of humor bud. I'll have to try it one of these yrs, blackened/cajun

In all seriousness, no reason why they wouldn't taste good out of that river. They are a predator afterall, most likely on a steady diet of Mooneye.

The Wpg R is just such an amazing body of water. So neat to see, start to finish, how the scenery changes, along with the available species that thrive in it's waters.

So interesting to me--starts in one of, if not the coolest lakes in the world--Woods, and flows through Shield and prairie, picking up tributaries on it's way into Lake Wpg, another amazing lake, in it's own way. Muskies and Bass, to black & gold Walleyes, huge Pike and Mooneye, to a couple premier Big Smallie factories, to Sturgeon and Greenbacks....and a high diversity of species all in-between.

I don't wanna assume anything or add any pressure already on the team---but, with AEM's steady march on the Winnipeg R....it can be assumed, eventually, Minaki will get some attention....... yikes....quite daunting, but with how efficient you've become at surveying and pumping out an astounding amount of content, year over year...for all I know you've already started it, ye sneaky buggers lol

Just a note from me---very nice to see some new water in NW Ont for 2021. Really looking forward to more of that, once the world returns to normal.

The Winnipeg River has intrigued me ever since I was a kid, @robm and I grew up in Pinawa. It is such a diverse, beautiful, and often powerful river. It drops 105 m over its length!

Minaki was started....back in 2017. Unfortunately, we still don't have a releasable chunk complete yet. A variety of logistical constraints for that one have come into play over the years....and I apologize for the lack of progress.

Dude! Don't you dare apologize! lol

    See...frig sakes....you've started it....unreal :)

Just for full disclosure, in case anyone is thinking this is an orchestrated, hype-driven, greasy sales tactic.....it's not at all. I am kept in the dark on most of the pre-release waters, and in all fairness, Craig is wise to keep a tight lip. I actually kind of like being surprised along with the loyal users.

Anyhoo, just wanted to clarify that I am as genuinely shocked as the rest of you, on how much new water is being added to 2021. And I am totally absolutely loving the ride...every day there's a new present to unwrap!

UPGRADES - available for existing AEM users starting tomorrow at Anchor Marine during regular business hours (M-F, 9-5). Bring your chip, pay for the upgrade in store, get your chip swapped, BS with Jaret (@EYEhigh89 ) for a couple minutes - done. We can also do mailed upgrades if getting to Anchor Marine isn't in the cards (full details on that here here - https://www.anglersedgemapping.com/store/digital-map-upgrades). AEM users are in for a treat this year, I'm excited for some of you guys to get your hands on the new data...

Also: we have AEM hats available now - Anchor Marine is stocked up.

Sorry about the modelling. I'm biased obviously but the hats are pretty nice, made using Richardson (read: premium) hats. Thanks to Promo Time (@Miss Tesla) for doing a bang-up job on these! Also available via our website.

The hats are wicked quality and @Miss Tesla did a bang up job on them.

Mantagao Lake - no structure and flatter than piss on a plate. The road is terrible on a good year. Yet, I friggen love that lake! So many good memories and derbies won too.

PDB isn’t the only area with local place names. Mantagao has The Corridor, $700 Point, Sul’s Camp, Burnt Church, etc. Mind you only my Dad and I use those names lol.

And now there’s an AEM map. I wanna go back there so bad.

I only cook Manitoba Largies that are 21” or more. Cook them up good and feed them to my dog.
