Keep us posted when they are available, I want to be first in line to update. Hopefully in early March.

Working our way towards release of the 2016 data....we wanted to get some initial feedback from those of you that have bought 2015 digital maps already and are thinking of upgrading to 2016 data.

Upgrading will require us to physically have a customers chip in hand....so that is basically going to mean purchasing the upgrade via our website, then mailing us your chip, and us mailing it back to you after reprogramming. To make sure a person's chip reaches us as intended, we will be advocating people mail their chips to us in a bubble mailer, with signature required to confirm delivery. Obviously, this incurs some costs that we'd much rather people weren't subject to....so we are also thinking of having an "AEM Upgrade Evening" at Pro-Am Tackle. Date to be determined. Purchase the upgrade on our website, and show up with your chip anytime that evening and we'll re-program it for you on the spot. No downtime without your chip. Save a few bucks.

Would anyone be interested in this option?

I think that's a great idea. I'd come down to Pro Am for that.

I'm first in line for the new chip. ;) I can either drop my 2015 chip off at your house or do the ProAm thing if you guys decide to do that.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Convenient to pop by there on the way home from work.

Once the 2016 update is completed I will be picking up a card for sure, I will make sure to contact you first Craig to ensure you can still put it on a card small enough to still be compatible with by regular Elite 5!

Sounds good Lewbank. Just to clarify for other people potentially in the same situation, our maps are designed to work with the Lowrance HDS and Elite lines (plus the new Elite Ti and Hook)....on our packaging and website we state Elite HDI and CHIRP versions specifically. We didn't know it at the time we launched our 2015 chips, but the early Elite-5 units (pre-HDI units) are also capable of displaying our maps....but only if they are installed on MicroSD cards of 2 GB or less. Put a 4GB card in these units, and they just don't recognize the card, no matter what data is stored on it. Our stock cards are all 4 GB.....but if anyone is in the same boat as Lewbank and has an older Elite-5, just email us directly prior to ordering from our website and we can load our maps onto a 2 GB card for you (assuming we can find a 2GB card; they are getting hard to source). We've done this for one other customer already. Older Lowrance models (LMS, LCX, etc.) are unfortunately not compatible with our maps.

I think we put it up when we launched our digital maps, so August 2015? Thanks!

If someone needs a 2GB card I dug one out today from an old fishfinder. Figured it could go to good use

Except I just reread and realized it's not a microSD card but, come to think of it I should have one of those and will take a look
