    Patty what issues are e-tecs known for? I remember hearing what great engines they were supposed to be when introduced. I have no first hand knowledge of them and only know two guys with them and to date they haven't said anything negative about theirs. They have had them about 12-13 years now on their boats. One has a 60 and the other a 75 if memory serves both pushing 16' Lowe side console deep v's. The fellow with the 60 did say a few times he wished he'd maxed out his hp.

    I wish I’d waited for the 140 or 150 Etec tillers with the electric power steering, but after my experience I wish I’d bought anything other than the exact motor I did lol


    It’s a real shame Evinrude got shelved so soon after they released that electric PS, it could have pushed the other companies to come up with better systems, Mercs system leaves a lot to be desired….

    Powerhead failure, ECM failure...

    ETECS are great, until they aren’t then they are shit... yeah they make great power and all being a 2 stroke...

    Seen it too many times... currently trying to find a friend a 75ish HP tiller after his etec Grenaded last week...

    @theKraken you can put a mertens steering system on any size outboard from my understanding, it’s not limited to Yar craft, that’s just their factory install...

    A 2010 (year and also model) 2010 Predator Tiller, powered with an older 200 Verado he dinged off a handful of rocks....that, for some reason, he loved that motor and kept clinging to it...same with his trailer. Kept that squeeky piece of shit through 3 boats lol.

    Ryan nudged him and nudged him to go 2075 Pro Guide ...still kept that motor and trailer as the buyer only wanted the hull. I told him who cares, make him remove it and sell the motor and trailer then...or wait 2 more days and find a new buyer, but he's too nice.

    When he was rigging the new Pro Guide, he was sending me pics all day at work----"here's what was in the Predator (tackle)" "and here it is in the Pro Guide. Look at all the room still! The storage is unrreal!!" ...then he sent me a pic of all the additional tackle he put into the Pro Guide. He was like a kid in a candy store, jizzing his pants at the storage lol.

    At that time, the 2075 Pro Guide may have had the most storage in the entire line-up, but I think the 2021 2075 Pro V Bass has topped it. The amount of storage they engineered in there is just silly.

    Buddy Tom has an older 18' Ranger T. Rides and handles really nice, storage really lacking and it fishes small inside. We've fished 3 guys in there for Crappie and it was tiiiight. Didn;t care though cuz Tom is the Crappie guru and put us on a whack-ton

    Those Predator tillers had a big ole dance floor that’s for sure.

    I can’t complain about the storage in the 1875 Pro-Guide but the amount of storage gained in the 2075 by adding 23” in that middle “sweet spot” area is amazing.

    Definitely wish I’d waited on motor upgrade a year and had the the option of a 250 on the 2075 to consider…..


    It seems to me that a lot of the glass tillers look small inside, that’s solely a visual observation as I haven’t fished or even been in any of them, but when I look a pics or videos of guys fishing in them and compare what they have in them and the space left over I feel like I have more room in my Pro-Guide.

    @Mike B. yeah 200hp makes sense, was a nice rig for sure...

    Man I want out of my boat and back into a tiller lol

    Even Wiebe's big Warrior looks small inside, compared to a 2075 Pro Guide, but I'd have to be standing in it fishing to make that conclusion. I'm sure it rides like a byoot. That's the trade-off of glass vs alum I think in a Walleye/Multi species rig----ride v storage.

    Pretty interesting to see Bryan Gustafson go to a Pro V Bass. Quite the swing in trends, that boat has made. Gussy pretty well sold the most Pro V Bass out of all the marine dealerships in the region lol

    Yup...same 200 he has now...not sure why after all the trouble and damage he kept that thing through 3 boats (maybe more)

    That Walleye decal on the Predator was fugly to me to be honest. I think that was Lund's only unattractive decal pack.

    Etecs---- great quote above--- they're great, until they aren't.

    Lots of jam in those piston poppers hehe

    Kind like the old Optimax and 1st gen Pro XS----lots of pop and jam....not so much for reliability and/or longevity

    Everything aside...everything...just pure throaty growl and 'cool factor' ---Big honkin Pro XS just sound effin wicked

    This is true of all outboards, it’s just the frequency of the “aren’t” for some manufacturers

    I was at Sioux Narrows last week and I happened to see Jamie Bruce's new Pro-V bass with the Pro XS....It sounds pretty badass when it starts. Almost like when you hit the key it jumps to 3000 RPM and then settles down.

    All personal Lund bias aside, I think Lund has storage and fishability dialed in like no other brand.

    Definitely not a shot at other brands...there's a lot of nice rigs out there that have their own pluses, like ride, and also other little tweaks....but the volume of storage in some of the bigger Lunds of certain models is pretty deadly, and quite honestly, unmatched, from what I've seen in freshwater fishing boats.

    When I fished out of one, it was amazing: Ride^, casting decks big enough for 3 casting for bass ^ and more than enough storage for the 3 of us^.

    When I bought my 2016 Impact I looked at a lot of different brands and that was a common theme, lack of storage. The only other brand I found that had good storage was Alumacraft.

    I think that the storage and layout in the Yar crafts and warriors, is pretty solid and right in line with the others... that said I haven’t stepped foot in one, but I’m gonna lol... The major difference for me will be “can I sacrifice in floor rod storage” other than that I think storage i good on most platforms these days... And I’ll gladly sacrifice some storage for big water handling capabilities...
